Mist • Tuesday Photo Challenge is my submission into Dutch goes the Photo challenge of the week. As usual, it is as brutally imaginative as it is challlenging: ‘Mist is more than just a fog, as it can also be a gentle, diffuse rain, which can provide very interesting light play. Unleash your creative brains and let them play with the theme to come up with those cool ideas that float around!’
Mist• Tuesday Photo Challenge
This photo is of a wave breaker on the beach of Westduinpark, The Hague, The Netherlands. It is caught in shards of a dense sea mist that ‘torture’ the coastline repeatedly this time of year. It is so common the Dutch even have a name for it: Zee Vlam which literally translates as Sea Flame.
The poem on the wave breaker translates into something like:
return to the Silent Beach
side issues blown away
sea is waving in dunes
surf rustles in the crowns
here is room
I had to do some (extensive) post prod in Apple Photos, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I took the original photo with my iPhone XR (which was on a sunny day!) Overlayed that with a photo resembling the shard of mist I was looking for. Credits to Tatiana Zhukova at Unsplash!
