Amy’s challenge of ‘A River Runs Through It’ made me think at first of that wonderfully melodramatic Springsteen song ‘The River’. For those who want to relive that wonderfully, cynically romantic mood again, I’ve included a link to my favorite performance of it. Ah, those childhood memories of innocently skinny dipping in the river Eem on a hot summer’s day have long since made space for associations of a river running through a city.

The promised link to that wonderful song then…

The river runs through it does bring us some sweet memories. I love your series, Tiong. Beautiful capture of the bridge and River Maas especially. A wonderful song.
Thx Amy!
Great song isn’t it Tiong?your bridge image.! Enjoyed your interpretation this week, and especially
Sorry, especially the bridge image
Thank you Tina. Apart from his Born to Run album I have not been a great fan of the Boss, but this song is absolutely sublime!
Lovely mood shots, Tiong. I love the fog images.
Thank you Patti.
Excellent presentation. In 1945 the 104th Infantry Division ‘Timberwolves’ fought north as far as Moerdijk (sp?) by the Maas/Hollands Diep to cut off supply lines to the Germans in Rotterdam. M’lady’s father (95 tomorrow) was with the 104th. Standaarbuiten and Oudenbosch (sp?) have several Timberwolf Straats. We’ve visited many time.
John, will you please congratulate your lady’s father for me? And thank him for his bravery? I’ll burn some incense for his fallen Timberwolves comrades.
Thank you! Will do.
Love your entry, Tiong.
Thank you 🙏
Don’t know where my comment went…but I love your entry!
