Moving Water Cee's Black & White Photo Challenge

Here’s my entry for this week’s Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge on ‘Moving Water’.
The details of this challenge can be found here.
This is a photo of some of the sluicegates at the Maashaven (Maas Harbor) in Rotterdam. It was taken with an iPhone XR back camera from a moving bus, hence the reflections.

Korean Doors • Thursday Doors • CBW

Korean doors

Korean Doors is a ‘shared’ post. It is my entry for this week’s Thursday Doors, which is hosted by Norm Frampton. As well as for Cee’s Black & White Challenge, which theme this week is ‘Doors and Drawers’.

Doors of a different kind, but doors nonetheless. These doors belong to an antique cupboard my parents picked up in Seoul, Korea. Which I inherited recently.

Stacks • Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge

Here’s my entry for this week’s Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge on ‘Stacks. This photo is of a typical Dutch scene. Stacks of abandoned bicycles waiting for their ‘deportation’ to the scrapyard.

Stacks of bicycles

I have written a brief post earlier on this phenomena of the Dutch just seeming to ‘forget’ that they have parked a bicycle on the street.

This photo is of the statue of the renowned writer Louis Couperus. It stands before one of the majestic buildings on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague.

The inscription at his feet reads, roughly translated ‘If I am something, I am somebody from The Hague’. This is a line from one of his articles called ‘Haagse jeugd’.

Tree art • Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge

Tree woman horizontal crop

Sorry, I’m a bit slow at times. Hopefully didn’t miss Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge on Tree Art (yes, here we go again…)

Anyway, here’s my contribution to this challenge:

Tree woman is a piece of tree art

‘Tree woman’ stands approx. 6 feet tall, and is made by a dutch artist Inge Nijhof. This piece of tree art is completely made out of ceramics.
