Animals That Keep Me Sane • Tuesday Photo Challenge

Snotje • Tuesday Photo Challenge

Here are a couple of photos of the two Animals That Keep Me Sane for Frank’s Tuesday Photo Challenge.

First and foremost is my 10 year old cat called Snotje. As I’ve posted a while back, she rules my one person household. She’s a handful, and sometimes she drives me absolutely mad. And just when I’m about to kill her she just gives me an adoring look. And I just melt. And everything is alright.

And then there is my girlfriend’s Sophie, who only listens to her. Her whole life seems to revolve around just two things: food and my girlfriend. I’m only on her radar when those two things aren’t present. More than once she reminds me of that Joe Jackson song ‘won’t you be my number two‘.

Scale back time • Tuesday Photo Challenge #203

Scale back time for the Tuesday Photo Challenge #203 has somewhat of a double meaning. Obviously, it is a scale model of the HMS Amsterdam. This was one of the ships owned by the Holland-America Line.

But what I found more of a challenge was to make this perfectly sharp, full colour photo, taken with my Leica only a month or so back, look like somebody had turned back the clock. I finally managed to produce this with Apple Photo and Adobe Lightroom.

Now junk, but once I was… • Tuesday Photo Challenge

Junk radio • Tuesday Photo Challenge

Now junk, but once I was… somebody’s pride and joy’ is my submission into the Tuesday Photo Challenge – Junk. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust is the old saying. Unfortunately not everything goes back to ashes or dust that quickly. Especially since we abandon more and more ‘durables’ by the side of the road. From bikes (a true plague in the Netherlands) to TV’s and radio’s to toilet bowls. Even motorbikes and cars. It is strange to think that these abandoned pieces of junk once were someone’s pride and joy. I have been ranting about this in previous posts. But here’s the gist of what we find abandoned in the streets once more.

Junk toilet • Tuesday Photo Challenge
A different meaning to a Public Toilet altogether
Junk bicycle dredged up • Tuesday Photo Challenge
Abandoned bicycle dredged up
Abandoned lines square
Another abandoned bicycle dredged up
Daddy, I found my push bike
…and the dredged up junk comes in all shapes & sizes
Netflix anyone?
Junk radio • Tuesday Photo Challenge
Or a cozy evening listening to the radio?
Honey, do you remember where I parked my motorbike?
Abandoned • Wordless Wednesday
Or the Land Rover for that matter…?

So… despite our good intentions, we’re drowning in the consequences of material wealth. I.e. our junk! And we don’t really give a shit.
